The anticipation is palpable as the ever-growing line-up of new and big name signings for the spring/summer 2012 edition of Moda Lingerie & Swimwear highlights the fantastic event that lies ahead. The volume of home-grown and international labels representing the best in lingerie, swimwear, sleepwear, shapewear and specialist ranges indicates that the show will be the most inspired edition yet. This vital trade event for all professionals in the intimate apparel industry, sponsored this season by Lycra®, takes place on 14-16 August at the NEC Birmingham.
Damaris, Mimi Holliday, Christain Lacroix, WAXX Underwear, Vanilla Lingerie, Dirty Pretty Things, 2BU, Alexis Smith, Bogema Lingerie, Bjorn Borg, Belle et Bonbon, Yes Master and Claudette are just a few of the new names adding to the lingerie signings. Striking swimwear collections will be seen from newcomers such as Rasurel, Protest, Hoola, Azura Swimwear Australia, Beach Kind Swim, Faba Europe, Hurley Swimwear, Debbie Katz South Beach, Mya Blue, Ginja Swimwear, Save the Queen! Sun, Saha and Aguaclara. New shapewear and specialist brands making their debuts include Fashion Forms and Alexis Smith.
Lingerie lovers looking for high octane glamour and pure decadence will not be disappointed this season as avant-garde label Damaris makes its debut at Moda with its cheekily seductive collection created from luxurious silks, satins and chiffon. Mimi Holliday, the diffusion line from Damaris will offer on-trend neon designs to flatter all shapes and sizes. Renowned French designer label Christian Lacroix also arrives at Moda for the first time with lace pieces inspired by exotic and far-flung locations.
Vibrancy will reign supreme this season as swimwear experts and newcomers Rasurel kick off the new season with an elegantly colourful collection and with 120 years of skill behind them its advanced designs will ensure every woman will look and feel fabulous on the beach. UK newcomers Protest are sure to dazzle with a collection strongly connected to the surf-vibe and authentic beach culture lifestyle brand Hurley Swimwear will bring the California heat.
The high-end collections area of Moda Lingerie & Swimwear re-launches this month under the new name of Moda Rouge and will be dedicated to designer, directional, luxury and niche brands. Stunning collections will be seen from an influx of new arrivals such as stylish Australian labels Baku and Ginja Swimwear, Dirty Pretty Things, Bjorn Borg, Yes Master, Claudette, Meg at Midnight and 2BU. Returning to the show and joining the new signings will be luxury labels Marlies Dekkers and Chantal Thomass plus the welcome return of British brands Playful Promises, Kiss Me Deadly, Miss Mandalay and Paolita.
Now firmly established as a wardrobe staple, shapewear continues to deliver fantastic products at the show and US brand Fashion Forms is a new attendee for the forthcoming event and will join returning names Mey Bodywear, Miraclesuit Shapewear, Charmline Bodycontrol, Cupid Fine Shapewear, Body Wrap, Magic Body Fashion, Spanx, and Trinny & Susannah by Cette to highlight a few.
With many customers looking for specialist products on the high street, buyers will be provided with a variety of great new mastectomy and maternity products. The recently launched UK brand Alexis Smith arrives at Moda for the first time with its innovative lingerie range specifically designed for women who have undergone breast augmentation. Beautifully created collections will also be available from mastectomy specialists Emma Jayne and maternity brands Anita Maternity and Bravado Designs will once again be on show. Sleep and loungewear brands to watch out for this season include Polish new arrival Boogie Nights and its collection of feminine separates plus established Moda names DKNY, Loungelife, Cyell and Cyberjammies.
Many more industry favourites will return to the NEC next month from the likes of Lejaby, Panache, Gossard, Fauve, Charnos, Lepel, Triumph, Baci Lingerie, Eberjey, Eveden, Fantasie, Freya, Hanro, MC Lounge, Wacoal, Affinitas, Passionata, Princess TamTam, Curvy Kate, Pistol Panties, Moontide, Beachlife, Kiku Design, Red or Dead, Rosch Beachwear, Ted Baker, Speedo, Zoggs and Seafolly plus many more.
